What do you need to come along?

“What do you need to come along?” – a powerful question in the context of recent UK events. Seeking the “Wisdom of the Minority” is a core aspect of Lewis Deep Democracy. I could not have chosen a more topical methodology to enhance my facilitation skills this week. Rarely have I experienced techniques as effective as the Deep Democracy process in creating the environment required to hear ALL views. It works with large groups and around the board table. Everyone taking part in the discussion critically examines all perspectives of an argument without anyone promoting just one side. The approach recognises that there are hardly ever any right or wrong answers to today’s big questions. Challenges are complex and positions ideally kept fluid whilst the issues are being explored. Once a decision has been made, the process acknowledges that some people will be uncomfortable, perhaps aggrieved with the direction to be taken. Their insights are still critical to achieve the best possible outcome. Taking into consideration what they “need to come along” is a vital step in moving forward. hashtagboard hashtagskills hashtagargument It was a thought-provoking programme masterfully led by Payam Yuce Isik, our expert instructor.
